SUPER-INSULATED VACUUM PIPING
The super-insulated vacuum tubes are the optimal solution for the safe, reliable and cost-effective transfer of cryogenic liquids-liquid nitrogen-oxygen-argon-helium-hydrogen and natural gas from storage tanks to the end point of use.
To optimize the cryogenic fluid transfer process, L.M. IMPIANTI offers customized super-insulated, rigid and/or flexible vacuum lines for liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, liquid CO2 and other cryogenic fluids.
- Excellent thermal performance that reduces conduction, convection and radiation while offering low cryogenic fluid consumption;
- Rapid transfer of cryogenic fluid to the point of use with minimal gas losses;
- Ensuring the safety of worke and property.
Expansion joints, installed in the inner pipes, serve to compensate for thermal expansion between the external and internal pipes.
Spacers are placed between the outer and inner pipes to minimize heat penetration.
A high vacuum level, combined with a safety valve, is provided for each pipe branch. This valve protects the outer pipe from excessive pressure and ensures that a vacuum valve can be installed or reconstituted in the event of a repair.
A coating of active adsorbent material is placed on the outside of the cryogenic fluid passage tube to maintain the vacuum for longer.
Super-insulated rigid line
Super-insulated vacuum lines are the most efficient method of transferring any cryogenic fluid (nitrogen, argon, etc.) from a storage tank to one or more points of use.
With the super insulated vacuum pipe the manual handling of dewars for rapid transfer of the cryogenic fluid is no longer necessary and guarantees a clean, low-maintenance pipeline suitable for any use.
It is available in a variety of diameters and can be installed in any length to ensure the delivery of cryogenic liquid where it is required quickly and safely.
Vacuum super-insulated tubing is available in a range of standard diameters from ½‘ (18 mm) to 3’ (85 mm) to suit all requirements, but smaller or larger sizes can also be produced to order.
Our lines are custom-built with elbows and tees incorporated into the various sections to minimise the number of joints required on site and thus reduce total heat loss.

Often the super-insulated rigid vacuum hose is not installable in all situations, in these cases super-insulated flexible vacuum lines can be installed.
Super-insulated vacuum hoses are the most efficient way to deliver fluids at very low temperatures in situations where rigid hoses cannot be used.
For example, in cases where:
- Equipment must temporarily move;
- There are vibrating elements or coupled systems between the end of a tank and the point of use where these cannot be determined with sufficient precision before the construction and installation of the super-insulated rigid pipe;
- We can make pipes of any length (with fittings) and with almost any type of end fitting required.
